THE NUMBERS, WITH CONTEXT

Clear claims.
Traceable sources.

The distinction between published research, an example tariff, and an illustrative scenario matters. Here is how we use each.

1. First-presentation discrepancy rates

The ICC Banking Commission’s Technical Advisory Briefing No. 3, dated 27 June 2022, estimates that 65–80% of documents under documentary credits are refused on first presentation. The briefing also describes settlement delays and increased fees. This is a dated industry estimate, not a current measured rate for CREDEXA users, and refusal does not necessarily mean payment is ultimately lost.

2. An example bank fee

Emirates NBD’s September 2025 Business Banking Trade Finance Tariff lists USD 157.50 per set of discrepant documents under Import DC Bills, inclusive of VAT, recovered from the exporter or proceeds. We use this as one concrete fee example. It is not an average or a universal charge; the applicable bank, account terms, and LC determine actual fees.

3. Manual preparation and fee scenarios

There is no validated universal manual preparation time supplied for this product. Our film uses a 4-hour manual preparation scenario: 1 hour to read and map requirements, 2 hours to prepare the documents, and 1 hour to cross-check. These are illustrative assumptions, not a claim about what every team typically takes. At an assumed fully loaded staff cost of $50 per hour, 40 preparation hours per month would represent $2,000 per month or $24,000 per year. The hourly rate is an illustration, not a researched wage benchmark or a measured CREDEXA saving.

AssumptionFilm / default calculator
Document sets under discussion per month10
Discrepancy selection for this calculation100%: all 10 selected sets are discrepant; not an industry rate
Example fee per discrepant set$157.50
Annual fee exposure10 × $157.50 × 12 = $18,900
Assumed preparation time10 × 4 hours = 40 hours / month

The fee calculation refers to 10 discrepant document sets, not 10 individual pages or 10 universally discrepant LCs. Actual charges vary by bank and terms. Delayed settlement can tie up working capital, but no fixed financing loss or release date is assumed. Annual fee exposure is not the total value of trade lost and is not guaranteed recoverable savings. It excludes labor costs, financing costs, rework, and product fees. No measured CREDEXA speed improvement or discrepancy-reduction percentage is claimed. Benefits shown are workflow capabilities, with final human review still required.

4. Product previews and imagery

Preview LC numbers, document details, and findings are illustrative. The bank, port, country and company network is an original schematic infographic; it does not show real transactions or geographically exact routes. Remaining industry images were created for CREDEXA using image generation; they do not depict customers, offices, completed transactions, or endorsements. The film is an original animated explanation of the workflow.
